Come Holy Spirit

Good morning,

Here we are in the midst of a graced week - Jesus Ascended, Mary is helping Christians and the Holy Spirit is coming. Like the Apostles huddled together in the upper room with Mary, many of us are rugged up in the upper study room. Yes, this is an excellent week to ask Our Lady Help of Christians to intercede for us as we prepare for the feast of Pentecost and a fresh outpouring of Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding and all the gifts.

This week we also wrapped up the three part podcast on Jacques Philippe's excellent little book, In the School of the Holy Spirit. He closes out the book with some very helpful criteria for knowing whether inspirations are truly from God.

If you are looking for an article to read that might change your life, Christian Bergman provided a wonderful 'media examen' based on 1 Cor 13. It might be useful for helping us develop a more reflective and life-giving approach to the way we consume and interact with various forms of media.

Hope to see some of you at Theology at the Pub on June 5 where we'll chat about the 'New Wine of the Gospel - A Drink Called Happiness.'

Have a wonderful week

God bless you,

The Udisciple Team

‘To love (and communicate) well’: examining our media habits
The words of St Paul in 1 Corinthians 13 challenge us to love as God loves. They might also prompt us to examine our media habits, helping us to remember, with Pope Francis and St Francis de Sales, that In order to speak well, it is enough to love well.’
