Shower of Roses

Greetings on this glorious Spring day in Melbourne.

After a wonderful weekend in the sun, it is back to the books for most of us as we wrap up the last few weeks of Semester 2. This week we took the burning questions our university students had on dating to newlyweds Brendan and Emily Elliston. You can hear all the wisdom an hilarity from that interview on the Udisciple Podcast.

There was a great article in the Melbourne Catholic this week on the feast of St Therese of Lisieux addressing the question of whether holiness is just the spiritual equivalent of a professional development program. Answering in the negative, the article cites wisdom from Dom Pius Mary Noonan OSB from Notre Dame Priory in Tasmania. It is well worth a read.

Hopefully we will see some of you tonight at T@P where Roseanne Rofaeel, founder of Christmas on the Streets will discuss 'Becoming Faithful Servants'.

God bless you,

The Udisciple Team

May the power of your love, O Lord, fiery and sweet as honey, wean my heart from all that is under heaven, so that I may die for love of your love, you who were so good as to die for love of my love.

Growing small: How St Thérèse of Lisieux reminds us of something we keep forgetting
The bigger-is-better’ approach to life is exhausting us. St Thérèse of Lisieux reminds us that holiness is not about getting bigger or better, but about growing small enough to learn what God wants of us. This is humility, and perhaps we forget about it too easily.
