Dear Pilgrims and Parents/Guardians

We are in the final countdown to our pilgrimage to Lisbon and we hope you are all as excited as we are as we make our final preparations for WYD.

• Pilgrim Medical Information: please ensure your pilgrim portal account is urgently updated with all relevant medical information to assist us in ensuring your safety and well-being on pilgrimage.

• Pilgrim Codes of Conduct: must be signed by the pilgrim and their parent/guardian. Scanned completed copies can be emailed to the WYD Office wyd@cam.org.au until Wednesday 26th July 2023 at 6pm. After this time, please bring the hardcopy with you to the airport. Should you require, download a copy here.

• Essential Travel Documentation: Pilgrims will require both their passport and the completed Consent Form for Children Traveling Abroad. Should a pilgrim arrive at the airport without one or both, they will be unable to travel. Download a copy of the consent form here, should you require. A list of authorised statutory declaration witnesses can be found here.

• Download WhatsApp onto your phone – this will be the primary communication tool for emergency contact with Pilgrimage Leaders and information updates while on pilgrimage. Please ensure you have the app downloaded ahead of arrival at the airport.

On the day of departure, Pilgrims are required to be at the Airport 3 Hours prior to their scheduled departure. On arrival at the Airport, we ask you to:

• Find your Pilgrimage Coordinator in the Departure Terminal (prior to check-in)
• Sign in with your small group leader and collect your pilgrim ID and lanyard (to be worn throughout travel)
• Once your small group has arrived you will proceed through check-in with your Small Group Leader
• Once all groups have checked in, a group photo will be taken before the pilgrimage group proceeds through customs.

The Parent/Family Hotline might be required if you are unable to reach your child by their phone or if there is a significant family emergency arises at home that you would like the leadership team to be aware of to pastorally support your child.

Please note that our regular WYD Office phone and email account will not be monitored during this time.
